Overview

The Annapurna Base Camp trek is a spectacular out and back high altitude hiking route stretching through multiple environments in the Annapurna Conservation Area. The trail starts off meandering through beautiful forest and terraces of rice paddies climbing all the way to Annapurna Base Camp at an altitude of 4100m. Scenery quickly changes as you gain altitude from tropical forest to hiking in knee deep snow among spectacular snow peaks.

Annapurna Base Camp trek is an incredible experience. ABC trek is one of the most spectacular routes in the region. Many trekkers choose this route as a shorter, easy and cheaper. The base camp has an unreal setting being surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the world; Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna South (7219 m), the fishtail Machapuchhre (6993 m), and Hiunchuli (6441 m). The hiking trail to Annapurna Base Camp is accessible from several trailheads and depending on your route the duration is between 6 and 12 days.

In this tour, we visit the 17th Century Durbar complex, Hanuman Dhoka, Paravati temple, great Bell and Drum, Bhairav and Taleju Temple. All around the splendour of historical monuments is the hustle & bustle of the market place. Vegetable vendors, trees of flutes, salesmen with their wares displayed on their person, souvenir hawkers, and street shop selling imported goods and tucked away in a quiet corner the glittering bead market for custom made bead necklaces.

Swoyambhunath (UNESCO World Heritage Site) - Swoyambhunath literally means 'Self-Existent One.' Swoyambhunath is believed to have been established more than 2,500 years ago. An inscription dated 460 A.D. states that the construction was carried out by King Manadeva. By the thirteenth century Swoyambhunath had developed into an important Buddhist learning site. It is also known as the Monkey Temple as there are holy monkeys living in parts of the temple in the North West. Swayambhunath occupies a central position; it is probably the most sacred among Buddhist Pilgrimage sites.

In the afternoon, you will visit Patan Durbar Sqaure. (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
In Patan, the old Newar city, you will see the historic Durbar Square, the Golden Gate, the sky piercing temple of Taleju and the statue of Yogendra Malla, Krishna Mandir, Sati Temple, Hiranya Varna Mahabiar (the golden temple), and Mahabouddha with views of old carved wooden windows through the streets, curios shop and Bazaars.
